How Royale Buddy counts card stats

Every number on the card pages comes from battles we collect through the official Clash Royale API. This page explains what each number counts and what it leaves out.

Modes

Ladder is regular Ladder battles plus the 14,000+ trophy road; we split it into 1,000-trophy ranges from 6,000. Seasonal Arena I and II are split at 14,500 trophies. Ranked is Path of Legends. 2v2, drafts, events, Clan Wars and Classic are not counted.

Time window

Usage and win rates cover 7 closed UTC days, leaving out the last two days before the update, so late battles are in. The window never crosses a season start: after one, numbers restart once 3 full days of the new season are in, and until then the page shows the last full week before the start.

Bots

On Ladder we leave out every battle where either side is an account our detector marks as a bot. Ranked has no bots.

Usage

Usage is the share of decks in battles that contain the card in any form — base, Evolution or Hero. Each battle counts both decks.

Win rate

Win rate is wins divided by wins plus losses; draws are left out. A card's win rate also leaves out mirror battles, where both decks have the card, because such a battle is a win and a loss for it at once. Win rate describes decks and the players who choose them, including their card levels, so it is not a verdict on the card.

Thresholds

We show usage only when it rests on at least 3,000 decks. A win rate needs at least 3,000 games without draws — a card's win rate leaves out mirror battles too — and is a whole number until 30,000 such games, then gets a decimal.

Deck lists

Deck lists come from pools rebuilt every night from the last 7 days. A Ladder deck needs 20+ games and 5+ players on an arena and a win rate of 40% or more, which also drops bot templates; a Ranked deck needs 100+ games and 20+ players. Decks with the same 8 cards are merged: their games add up, you copy the most played layout, and the stats link opens that layout alone. Most played decks are ordered by games, not by win rate, but leave out decks more than 2 points below the card's own win rate in the same range (on Ladder, once a deck has 200+ games there). In the first days after a new Evolution or Hero comes out we list its decks with games only.

Matchups

A matchup compares how decks with a card do against decks with another card with their usual win rate, after adjusting for how strong the other card is overall. We list a pair only with 3,000+ games and highlight it only when the difference is at least 2 points and well beyond chance. Matchups use Ranked only: on Ladder, card level gaps would mix in. They describe decks, not advice.

Cards played together

Partners are the cards that most often share a deck with the card, weighted by games in the deck pools. Playing together does not prove that they work best together.

What we don't show

We don't publish hit points, damage or other per-level stats, card levels in battles, or tier rankings.
